Agreement between ENSM and the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU)

On 26 July 2023, the École nationale supérieure maritime (ENSM) and the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) signed an agreement to develop their joint activities during a visit to Jamaica by Hervé Berville, Secretary of State for the Sea, and in the presence of Olivier Guyonvarch, French Ambassador to Jamaica and Permanent Representative of France to the IAMF.

This rapprochement between the two maritime academies, initiated in 2022, led to the signing of an agreement by François Lambert, Director General of the ENSM and Andrew Spencer, President of the CMU, aimed at developing and promoting their cooperation in training and research, particularly in the fields of navigation, energy transition, digitalisation, cyberdefence, logistics, offshore industry and management.

Mobilities of students, teachers and staff are also envisaged, as well as the sharing or creation of online teaching resources and technical cooperation within IMO committees in support of and at the discretion of their respective governments when the work relates to training, energy transition or innovation.

The ENSM and the CMU will also involve their networks from their respective maritime ecosystems in the innovative projects that they set up.
