Officer holding a bridge watch leader certificate who does not meet the conditions required for seagoing service (or equivalent) to retain the prerogatives associated with the certificate.

PREREQUISITES

Hold a bridge watch leader certificate for vessels > 500 tonnage

OBJECTIVES

Demonstrate continued professional competence and obtain revalidation of the qualification.

DURATION

5.5 hours over 1 day + 1/2 day to familiarise yourself with the simulator.

Programme of tests and courses for the revalidation of certificates of officers in charge of a navigational watch on board ships of 500 gross tonnage or more (and officers in charge of a navigational watch on board ships of less than 500 gross tonnage not engaged in near-coastal voyages – STCW Regulation II/3)

– SMCP English: 1/2 hour
– Merchant ship operation / Loading calculations: 1/2 hour
– Safety: 1/2 hour
– Navigation and manoeuvring simulator / Navigation / Meteorology / Steering rules: 4 hours
