PREREQUISITES

– Nautical knowledge including charts, international regulations to prevent collisions at sea and aids to navigation
– Possess the SMCP language
– Basic English conversation skills
– Know how to use current telecommunication and detection systems
– Master ship positioning, navigation and identification systems
– Demonstrate ability to use maritime radiocommunications

OBJECTIVES

Acquire the skills to perform tasks related to the vessel traffic management system

Language: Reminder of standard SMCP phrases for port use
Module 2: Traffic Management. Reminder on the Use of Port Switching Procedures
Module 3: Equipment. Reminder on the functionalities of the equipment used by operators (AIS, CCTV, VTS Radar, etc.)
Module 4: Nautical Knowledge. Reminder of Vessel Handling
Module 5: Communication coordination. Reminder of the rules and procedures in force (IMO) applicable to radiocommunication exchanges
Module 6: VHF Radio. VHF Technical Specifications Reminder (Frequencies)
Module 7: Human Factor. Introducing the Influence of Human Behaviour in Critical Situations
Module 8: Emergency Situations. Search and Rescue Operation. GMDSS Procedure
