REFRESHER TRAINING – CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY IN THE OPERATION OF FAST RESCUE BOATS (CAECSR)

PUBLIC CONCERNED

Holders of a Certificat d’aptitude à l’exploitation des canots de secours rapides (CAECSR) due to expire every five years.

PREREQUISITES

Admission to the course :

– Hold a Certificat d’aptitude à l’exploitation des canots de rapides (CAECSR) ;
– Hold a certificate of onboard training less than five years old, certified by the shipowner (entitles you to a reduced number of training hours).
– Hold a certificate from the seafarers’ doctor stating that you are fit to sail, less than 12 months old. hold a certificate from the seafarers’ doctor stating that you are fit to sail, less than 12 months old.

Theoretical instruction :
– General information on rescue boats
– Launching and recovery
– Operation of a rescue boat
– Launching and manoeuvring in adverse weather conditions
– Helicopter rescue methods
– Hypothermia
– Portable radio equipment

Practical training :
– Operational availability of the dinghy
– Exercises for launching and recovering an emergency dinghy
– Behaviour in the event of capsizing
– Manoeuvres at slow and steady speeds

The course certificates are electronic and can be accessed directly on your seafarer’s portal as soon as you have successfully completed the course.
These certificates are valid for 12 months, during which time you can use the appropriate CERFA form to renew your certificates with Maritime Affairs.
