Rating – Passenger Ships

AUDIENCE CONCERNED

Masters, officers, seamen and other personnel serving on board passenger ships engaged on international voyages and on passenger ships of 500 gross tonnage or more engaged on domestic voyages.

PREREQUISITES

Hold a seafarer’s medical certificate stating the seaworthiness of less than 12 months.

OBJECTIVES

Ensuring the safety of passengers on passenger vessels

DURATION

22.5 hours for officers

16 hours for other staff

PROGRAM

– Passenger Coaching Training: All Staff 2.5 hours
– Safety training for personnel providing direct passenger service in passenger rooms: all personnel: 2.5 hours
– Crisis management and human behaviour training: all staff: 7 hours
– Passenger and cargo safety and hull integrity training: 8 Officer / 4 Crew Hours
