Technical Manager
Founded in 1934, the Compagnie des Pêches Group (300 employees) is now one of the few companies that can claim to have an integrated supply chain from fishing to finished products. Performance, traceability, quality and sustainability are their objectives in satisfying their customers.
Within the group, COMPAGNIE DES PECHES SAINT MALO operates two factory ships. A Technical Manager is responsible for maintaining the production equipment on these vessels in operational condition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Technical Manager’s main tasks will be to:
– Organise preventive and corrective work on ships in coordination with the ships’ machinery and Group technical teams,
– Monitor and provide technical support for vessels, in particular :
– monitoring damage
– planning shore-based work during calls and technical stoppages,
– supplying and sourcing specific parts,
– managing and planning work carried out by outside contractors,
– monitoring the timely completion of technical operations,
– Ensuring compliance with ship management regulations, in particular:
– Monitoring the ship’s certificates,
– Organising annual inspections
– Monitoring technical specifications
– Specific on-board documents and declarations
– Certification of equipment
◦ Participate in the operational support of vessels, including:
– Supplies of parts, fuel, specific factory, bridge or machine orders
– Orders for fishing equipment at the request of the ship/owner/partner,
◦ Be the main contact for companies working on board vessels, port agents, authorities and certification bodies.
◦ Report regularly to the Shipowner and the Shipping Department on the progress of your assignments,
◦ Rely on the company’s other departments to carry out the assignment: General Management, Administrative and Financial Management and the Group’s other technical and support departments.
TRAINING
Brevet de Chef Mécanicien/Officier Mécanicien or engineering degree with a focus on mechanics (refrigeration, engines, etc.). Solid skills in maintenance, logistics, documentation and support resources, as well as general technical knowledge of ships.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Sailing experience (desirable but not compulsory), ideally supplemented by at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, gained in a fishing vessel management company (for knowledge of fish-related agri-food processes) or with a shipowner.
Fluent English + good command of the Office Pack and familiarity with tools such as CRM, CMMS, etc.

The position is based in Saint-Malo (35) and will require frequent travel in Europe (mainly Norway, the Netherlands and Germany).
