The Compagnie Maritime des Iles, based in Nouméa, New Caledonia, operates two 68-metre LTC vessels, the M/V ISAN and the KARAKA, registered for international coastal trade, which sail weekly between the mainland and the Loyalty Islands. They carry bulk cargo, containerised cargo, vehicles and/or Cl2 and Cl3 hydrocarbons.

The company now operates a regular service to Vanuatu.

The company is recruiting a Second Engineer (M/F).

The Second Engineer is responsible for the operation of the vessel and the maintenance of the engine. They work closely with the Chief Engineer and the Technical Department to carry out their duties.

Sailing schedule: Weekly coastal trade requiring residence in New Caledonia; embarkation according to the shipping company’s schedule (4/3 rotation)

The working language is French.

Permanent contract – ENIM 12 – Travel and accommodation costs covered at the start of the assignment

Second Engineer (unrestricted) (minimum 3000 kW) with up-to-date certification: CFSS, CFBS, CAEERS, CQALI and medical fitness certificate

Candidates with significant experience (2 years) as a Second Engineer / OCQM

Rigour, independence and motivation are the qualities required for this role.
