Naval Architecture Technician
Company Overview
Founded in Québec City in 1987, Concept Naval is a naval architecture and marine engineering firm that has been supporting vessel operators, shipyards and other players in the maritime industry for nearly 40 years.
Our team of around 20 professionals brings together naval architects, engineers and technicians with complementary areas of expertise. This company size encourages close working relationships, collaboration and knowledge sharing between colleagues, while allowing everyone to play an active role in projects and develop a broad range of expertise.
Our expertise covers the entire life cycle of a maritime project, from preliminary design through to detailed engineering, as well as the construction, modification, modernisation and repair of vessels and floating structures. With more than 500 projects completed, our team works on assignments across Canada, in partnership with clients, shipyards and partners both locally and internationally.
Concept Naval notably designed two new fully electric ferries for the City of Toronto. The company has also contributed to ferry projects for the Société des traversiers du Québec, the electrification of the Marilyn Bell I, as well as various research vessel, tugboat and specialised workboat projects. These diverse assignments demonstrate the breadth of our expertise and our commitment to supporting the development of the maritime industry, particularly through electrification, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and the integration of new technologies.
Company Culture
At Concept Naval, our culture is built around collaboration, close working relationships and a shared passion for the maritime industry. We are an approachable and committed team where everyone can make a tangible contribution to projects, share their ideas and develop their expertise through a wide range of stimulating assignments.
We also place great importance on enjoying working together and building relationships beyond our projects. Team breakfasts, after-work gatherings, sports activities, outings and company events all provide opportunities to spend time together in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This culture is also reflected in the way we work, with flexibility, autonomy and an environment that encourages communication and knowledge sharing.
In Québec City, our team also benefits from an exceptional location on the banks of the St Lawrence River, in the heart of Old Québec, right at the foot of the Château Frontenac.
