SUDILES is a New Caledonian shipping company operating services between the Mainland, the Loyalty Islands and the Isle of Pines. Its mission is to transport passengers and goods between the various islands using the Bético 2, a 57-metre-long vessel with a gross tonnage of 1,495 UMS, based in Nouméa.

Position sought: Captain
Sector/activity: Merchant navy – Passenger transport
Area of operation: Nouméa ferry terminal and surrounding area
Start date & duration of assignment: Permanent contract with probationary period (to start as soon as possible)
Contract type: Permanent contract
Remuneration: Up to €4,600 gross per month

Duties & Responsibilities

To direct navigation and ensure the safety of the vessel and passengers
To supervise the crew and coordinate operations on board
To ensure compliance with applicable maritime regulations
To be responsible for the implementation of the ISM Code on board
To manage emergency situations and implement safety measures
Required Qualifications

Significant experience in commanding passenger vessels
Proficiency in maritime safety regulations and coastal navigation
Sense of responsibility and leadership.
Experience with NGV/MTU/Kamewa/Sémaphore is also highly desirable.
The working language is French
Certifications & regulatory compliance

Captain’s certificate (3000) minimum
Valid medical certificate
All certificates up to date (CAEERS, CFBS, CQALI, CGO, Med III)
