Mathilde, our newest hire, is visiting the A Galeotta! ⚓
Mathilde, nouvelle embauchée, en visite à bord du A Galeotta ! ⚓
Mathilde joined the team in early April as an assistant to the educational engineer and had the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience during her trip to Marseille, which included a tour aboard the A Galeotta, operated by Corsica Linea. ⛴️
Having been involved since her arrival in work related to the reform of the SPRS (Passenger Safety and Social Responsibility) module, this hands-on experience allowed her to better understand the realities of the profession and the challenges students face when boarding ships. It was a concrete way to gauge the importance of the skills and best practices taught as part of their training.
This experience was as enriching as it was inspiring and will inform her thinking on the evolution of training programs.
“A big thank you to Jean-Baptiste Salaün, an instructor at ENSM, Captain Thomas Quennepoix, and Chief Engineer Benoît Ryckboer for their warm welcome. This first ship visit allowed me to get a behind-the-scenes look at a crew’s daily life and to understand the safety challenges on board.” — Mathilde, Assistant Educational Engineer.
