Erasmus Travel Diary: Yanis and Hinrich in Norway!
Yanis, a third-year general officer cadet, and Hinrich, a fourth-year cadet, left for a week-long exchange program at the Norwegian university NTNU in Ålesund as part of the ERASMUS+ program.
“During spring break, Hinrich and I had the opportunity to participate in a week-long exchange between ENSM and the Norwegian university NTNU in Ålesund.
The week consisted of simulator sessions with the students, as well as participation in a three-day BRM (Bridge Resource Management) training course on a simulator alongside crews from Norwind Offshore.
We were also able to observe the students’ simulator training sessions on the other two days, participate in one of their maneuvering exercises, and test the virtual reality simulators used to train pilots and bridge operators.
This experience allowed us to interact with the officer cadets, professors, and officers present for the training, as well as to discover Norway’s magnificent landscapes.
We would like to thank the ENSM teams for making this trip possible, as well as the NTNU teams, students, and faculty for welcoming us to their campus.” — Yanis UNFER
