Discover MyVessel, an innovative app designed for officer cadets and seafarers, created by Lucas, a general officer cadet at ENSM!

Lucas Marche, a first-class officer cadet in his final year at the Le Havre campus, presents his app, which is already available for iOS and coming soon to Android.

“I’m a master’s student in Le Havre, and in my free time, I take a lot of photos and videos (gala aftermovies, the Hydro’s Cup, parties, sporting events), and I wanted to take on new projects, like creating MyVessel.

As I went on various deployments, I wanted to find a way to keep track of the places I’d been, and that’s how MyVessel got started. I then realized that incorporating the entire “career tracking” aspect made sense. So I added these features, which I believe are the most useful for cadets and officers—they allow them to track all their time at sea.

This app is designed for everyone who sails, from cadets to officers, both on deck and in the engine room. Specifically, it lets you view all your sea voyages on a globe, keep a logbook year after year, and track your progress toward the required sea time for various certifications. You can also calculate your future sea time by simulating upcoming voyages. The app is still very new (2 months as of late August), and I’ve received a lot of feedback and suggestions for future updates. I’ll try to incorporate as many relevant features as possible, as well as an Android version of the app, which is currently only available on iOS.

I didn’t expect this kind of enthusiasm at all—my launch post on LinkedIn got nearly 500 reactions and over 20,000 impressions, and I was contacted by Jeune Marine to write an article. I’ve had over 500 downloads so far, which motivates me to keep going!”
