REFRESHER COURSE – BASIC SAFETY TRAINING CERTIFICATE

PUBLIC CONCERNED

Holders of a basic safety training certificate (CFBS) due to expire every five years.

PREREQUISITES

– Hold a CFBS.
– Hold a certificate from the seafarers’ doctor stating that they are fit to sail, less than 12 months old.

OBJECTIVES

To prove continued competence in accordance with the Order of 24 July 2013 on the revalidation of maritime vocational training qualifications and the STCW Manila Amendment Convention of 24 June 2010.

DURATION

TIS refresher course: 6 hours, including 2 hours of theory and 4 hours of practice
FBLI refresher course: 10h including 2h theory and 8h practice

Minimum 9 / Maximum 10

The course certificates are electronic and can be accessed directly on your seafarer’s portal as soon as the training course has been successfully completed.
These certificates are valid for 12 months, during which time you can use the appropriate CERFA form to renew your certificates with Maritime Affairs.
