PROGRAMME

Day 1 morning – 4 hours:

-Expected skills:

Identify the constraints associated with the maritime transport of different types of liquid bulk cargo (physical and chemical characteristics, regulations, etc.). Identify the characteristics of ships (oil, chemical and gas).

 

-Content:

Different types of cargo (characteristics, hazards, precautions) and existing regulations: MARPOL, IBC, IGC, professional practices (OCIMF/SIGTTO)

 

Characteristics of ships (tanks, circuits) and handling equipment (types of pumps, inert gas, washing, etc.)

 

Day 1 afternoon – 4 hours:

-Expected skills: Understand the operational constraints associated with loading and unloading oil tankers, chemical tankers and gas tankers:

-Crude oil transport (COW, etc.)

-Transport of products

-Chemical tankers

-LNG

-LPG

 

-Content:

Crude oil transport operations (cargo simulator)

Refined product transport operations (cargo simulator)

Chemical transport operations (Chris Code, Vervey Guide, etc.)

Liquefied gas transport operations (cargo simulator)

Terminal/ship procedures

 

Day 2 morning – 4 hours:

-Expected skills:

Conducting a tank survey and calculating quantities

Conducting a tank condition survey on a chemical tanker

Calculate quantities for a liquefied gas cargo

Draft commercial documents

 

 

-Content:

Oil and gas quantity calculations

Refined product and chemical washing procedures (Vervey Guide, Miracle Guide, FOFSA recommendations, wallwash tests)

Ship shore safety checklist

Notice of readiness, bill of lading, timesheet and letter of protest
