AUDIENCE
Any officer in charge of a navigational watch on the bridge of a merchant or pleasure vessel equipped with an electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS).
PREREQUISITES
Hold a Master or Chief officer CoC for ships > 500GT.
OBJECTIVES
Demonstrate continued professional competency and gain revalidation of the certificate.

8 hours / 1 day + 1.5 days on the simulator

PROGRAMME
In compliance with Appendix 4 of the Annex to the Order of 24 July 2013:
Programme of tests and courses for the revalidation of certificates for masters and chief officers of ships of 500 gross tonnage or more (and masters and chief officers of ships of less than 500 gross tonnage not engaged in near-coastal voyages – STCW Regulation II/3)
Tests :
– SMCP English: 1/2 hour
– Navigation and ship handling simulator / Steering rules / Meteorology / Navigation: 4 hours
– Merchant ship operation / Loading calculations: 1/2 hour
– Safety: 1/2 hour

The course certificates are dematerialised, and can be accessed directly on your seafarer’s portal as soon as the training course has been successfully completed.
These certificates are valid for 12 months, during which time you can use the appropriate CERFA form to renew your certificates with Maritime Affairs.
