🚢 Join the Port of Bayonne as a Versatile Lieutenant!
The Port Authority of Bayonne plays a key role in the regional maritime economy. It operates port facilities and manages several vessels that are local icons, including the dredger Hondarra, dedicated to maintaining port depths, as well as the tugboats Balea and Göksu V, which ensure the safety and efficiency of port maneuvers.

⚓ Your role on board
As a Versatile Lieutenant, you will serve aboard the dredger Hondarra in a key position combining technical expertise, management, and navigation.
You will work according to a structured schedule:
• Monday to Saturday, from 06:30 AM to 06:30 PM
• Every other week on duty, with safety standby outside working hours
• A lighter schedule during the summer period

🛠️ Your main responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate the deck crew
• Ensure maintenance of the deck and equipment
• Guarantee the safety of operations and crew
• Actively participate in vessel navigation
• Operate the vessel and manage dredging operations

🔔 Safety standby duties
Outside working hours, you will be responsible for:
• Monitoring alarms remotely (forwarded to your phone)
• Conducting safety rounds during vessel downtime

✅ Profile & required qualities
• Valid certifications are mandatory
• Strong sense of responsibility, particularly regarding safety
• A strong interest in vessel handling and operational port work
• Team spirit, responsiveness, and the ability to make decisions in the field are essential to succeed in this role
