Plastic Odyssey is looking for a chief engineer to accompany the final phase of the round-the-world expedition and participate in the opening of a new, even more ambitious chapter dedicated to ocean research and restoration.

Required profile:

– Chief Engineer Certificate 750 kW or higher
– Experience in marine diesel engine maintenance and operation
– One or more experiences on expedition or scientific vessels is a plus
– Autonomy, rigour and team spirit are essential
– Strong awareness of environmental issues and motivation to participate in a committed adventure
– Curious person, ready to contribute to a high-impact technical and human mission

About Plastic Odyssey:

The Plastic Odyssey is a 40-metre research vessel and global ambassador for the fight against plastic pollution.
After three years of expeditions, it is entering a new phase of research, measurement and awareness-raising missions around the world.

Currently on a mission in the Indian Ocean, the vessel is conducting measurement and reconnaissance operations on deserted islands that are set to be restored in the coming years. In partnership with UNESCO, it is preparing an unprecedented series of clean-up and research missions to 25 of the most threatened sites on the planet.

Roadmap for the coming months:

– Crossing to South Africa
– Traveling up the West African coast with stops in Senegal and Cape Verde for awareness-raising activities
– From April 2026: French tour of a dozen ports to share the discoveries and solutions gathered during the expedition
