Maritime/Cargo Expert M/F

Adenes, an international post-loss claims adjustment group, is looking for a Maritime/Cargo Claims Adjuster (M/F) to join our VERITECH Claims Adjustment Department.

Your field of expertise: transported goods.

Damaged containers at the quayside, spoiled cargo on board a ship, packages damaged during port handling… Every assignment is a new challenge.

As a loss adjuster specialising in maritime and, more broadly, multimodal transport, you will work on a variety of technical cases, mainly related to maritime transport. You will play a key role: analysing, assessing, deciding — and getting supply chains back on track.

Your day-to-day tasks

– Assessing damage sustained during transport and handling
– Inspecting means of transport to check their condition before and after transport
– Identifying the technical causes of damage (stowage, handling, damage, pollution, etc.)
– Assessing losses and estimating costs
– Determining the responsibilities of the parties involved
– Writing clear, structured and technically sound reports
– Acting as the point of contact for all parties (customers, insurers, carriers, shipowners, etc.)

We are seeking a professional from the maritime sector with a solid background in international transport and logistics.

Training from ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime) or equivalent (merchant navy officer, ocean-going captain, marine engineer, etc.).

Experience on board or in a port would be particularly appreciated, ideally with initial experience in loss adjustment or the transport/logistics sector.

Proficiency in technical maritime English is essential.

Regular travel within the country is to be expected.

We will appreciate:
Your rigour, analytical skills and responsiveness.
Your ability to understand the technical and economic challenges of transport.
Your ability to clearly explain complex situations to a variety of people.
Your independence and sense of priorities.
Your curiosity and taste for challenge.

You will appreciate:
A personalised induction and support programme
Ongoing training to strengthen your technical and regulatory skills
A hands-on management style and a team-oriented culture
A dynamic, human-sized company backed by an international group
An active CSR policy (diversity, inclusion, eco-responsibility)
Attractive remuneration: from £34,000 per annum + commission on turnover
Company car (eco-friendly fleet), fuel card, meal vouchers, mutual insurance and time savings account

Why join us?
Join a company that values maritime technical expertise, team spirit and versatility, within an international network (VRS Adjusters). You will work on exciting and concrete projects at the interface between technology, law and maritime trade.
