JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a deck officer for our vessel registered with the RIF.
In addition to his duties in steering the vessel, the Watch Officer will be responsible for training the cadets on board.

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Hold at least a Bridge Watch Officer’s Certificate or a Watch Officer’s Certificate for seagoing vessels,
• Be highly adaptable to the activities of a training vessel,
• Possess excellent teaching skills and a genuine desire to pass on knowledge,
• Have previous experience working in a multicultural environment,
• Have a good command of maritime and general English,
• Have solid experience of coastal navigation and international coastal trade,
• Reside in Brittany or neighbouring departments,
• Previous service on board military vessels would be an advantage.

PREREQUISITES
Hold a valid medical fitness certificate and all valid STCW certificates.
