CHIEF ENGINEER
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Compagnie Maritime des Iles is based in Nouméa, New Caledonia. It operates two 68-metre LTCs, the M/V ISAN and the KARAKA, equipped for international coastal shipping, which sail weekly between the mainland and the Loyalty Islands. They transport bulk goods, containers, vehicles and/or Cl2 and Cl3 hydrocarbons.
The company is expanding with the opening of a route to Vanuatu.
The company is recruiting 1 Chief Engineer (M/F).
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation of the vessel and the maintenance of the machinery. He works closely with the Technical Department to carry out his duties.
Sailing schedule: Weekly coastal shipping requiring relocation to New Caledonia, embarkation according to the shipping company’s schedule (4/3 schedule)
The working language is French.
Permanent contract – ENIM 15 – Travel and accommodation expenses covered at the start of the assignment.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Chief Engineer (3000kW minimum) with up-to-date certification: CFSS, CFBS, CAEERS, CQALI and medical fitness.
Individuals with significant experience (2 years) as Chief Engineer/Second Engineer
Rigour, autonomy and motivation are the qualities expected for this position.
