PREAMBLE

Information systems and computer networks have gradually invaded the maritime environment and are now ubiquitous on ships. This evolution exposes crews to new risks every day: theft of information, remote control of computer systems, sabotage, etc.

Overview of the threat, 3 hours:

General information on cyber security
Definition and structure of an information system (IS)
Definition and fundamental principles of cyber security
Overview of cyber threats to the maritime world: motivations, profiles and types of attack
Organisation of maritime cyber security: entities, regulations and applicable standards

Best practices in cyber security, 1 hour:

Organisational, technical and human measures
Requirements of the ISPS Code and the LPM

Specific features of cybersecurity on board ships, 2 hours:

Presentation of IMO Directive MSC.428(98)
How to comply with this directive
Risk analysis on a ship
Security of on-board equipment (AIS, ECDIS, etc.)

  • Training possible multi-site ENSM.
