The Territorial Collective of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon recruits for its ferries A SECOND CAPTAIN (M / F) MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES 1) Assist the commander in his duties and act as an assistant; 2) Manages bridge service (security, cargo, maneuver) and general service (reception and management of passengers); 3) Complies with and applies the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG), Local Port Regulations, the ISM Code, ISPS ...; 4) In charge of loading, judge of carrying capacity in passengers, vehicles and goods in accordance with the stability of the ship; 5) Responsible for Ship Safety and Security (ISM, ISPS), establishes and commissions regulatory exercises; 6) Contributes to the maintenance in good general condition of the ship (general cleanliness ...); 7) Report to the commanding officer of any abnormality and malfunction; 8) Updates and reviews the SOLAS training manual. PROFILE OF RECRUITMENT / SKILLS - Minimum Required: Second Master's Certificate 3000 UMS, CQALI, CFBS, CAEERS, ECDIS, ERM / BRM, SSO, Certificate of Training Passenger Vessels; - 5 years sailing experience as a Captain or Second Captain is desired; - Excellent knowledge of international security and safety management (ISM, ISPS); - Strong written and oral communication skills; - proven skills in human relations; - Good computer skills; - Authority and charisma, self-control and self-control.
