Bastia Maritime Vocational College

The ENSM has been offering an officer cadet class at the Maritime College in Bastia, Corsica, since 2025. This class complements the existing International bridge watchkeeping officer / captain 3000 training programme in Le Havre by welcoming 24 additional students to Bastia for the first two years of training.

Bastia, located in northern Corsica, is the second largest city on the island after Ajaccio. Around 3,000 students attend these higher education establishments in Bastia. This port city, rich in history and culture, is distinguished by its Mediterranean atmosphere, picturesque streets and impressive sea views. The city provides a favourable economic environment for ENSM students, with several shipping companies based there (Corsica, Méridionale, CMA CGM, etc.).

This site offers ENSM students a peaceful and supervised living environment, conducive to concentration, personal development and academic success, in line with the courses taught at the other ENSM sites.

Teaching is provided by former maritime professionals from the teaching staff of the Lycée Maritime de Bastia. The teaching equipment is identical to that used at the ENSM, in particular the engine and navigation simulators. ENSM students in Bastia follow the same course as students at the ENSM site in Le Havre, based on the same training framework and internal organisation.

Joining the Lycée Maritime de Bastia also means sharing the heritage, values and traditions of the ENSM. It means joining a community of officers, where mutual support and team spirit have been paramount for centuries. Bural, choir and events punctuate the school year.

A catering service is available at the Lycée. It offers balanced meals, designed to meet the specific needs of students in training. The menus are varied and prepared daily by a kitchen team, in accordance with nutritional and quality standards. At the start of the school year, you will be given a canteen card. This gives you access to the Lycée’s catering service, available from Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and school holidays.

The Lycée offers two accommodation options for ENSM students:

1. A modern boarding school, designed to accommodate students who live far from Bastia. The rooms are comfortable and the common areas encourage respect for each individual’s routine while promoting community life. The boarding school is supervised by an attentive educational team, responsible for ensuring discipline, well-being and a balanced lifestyle for boarders.
2. Student accommodation via our partner FAC Habitat Bastia:

• Financial assistance available (APL, etc.)
