Towards the creation of the Institut National Supérieur Maritime!

The École Nationale Supérieure Maritime, the École du Service Public de la Mer, the École Nationale de Voile et des Sports Nautiques, the École Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées as well as the Université du Havre, the Université de Rouen Normandie, the Université de Montpellier Paul-Valéry, Centrale Méditerranée and the Université de Bretagne Occidentale are pleased to announce their intention to set up the Institut National Supérieur Maritime.

What is the Institut National Supérieur Maritime?

Planned in the strategies of some of these establishments, it is now taking concrete form. This announcement in the context of the United Nations Conference on the Oceans in Nice is important news for the structuring of this federative ambition.

The ambition of the Institut National Supérieur Maritime is simple: to create a light, federative structure to list all the training courses available in France in a non-exhaustive range of fields: Merchant Navy, Marine Engineering, Logistics and Ports, Crew Management, Maritime Administration, Maritime Spatial Planning, River Engineering, Ecological Engineering, Maritime Development, Sustainability of Maritime and Coastal Uses, Protection of Marine Ecosystems. In addition to this catalogue, it will be necessary to promote links between the various courses and institutions to better meet emerging needs in terms of maritime training and research.

On 1 January 2026, the Institut National Supérieur Maritime will be formally established !
