Fleet Methods Engineer
A major player in its field, STAPEM OFFSHORE provides marine and submarine technical support and maintenance for offshore oil and gas industry installations. STAPEM OFFSHORE has been operating mainly in Angola for over 30 years, as well as in Senegal and the Middle East, particularly Qatar.
We are looking for a Fleet Methods Engineer (m/f) whose main scope of work will initially involve 2 Damen Fast Crew Supplier 2610 (engines: 2x Caterpillar C32 TTA B) based in Senegal and Angola and 1 Offshore Support Vessel & 2 Offshore Diving Support Catamarans (propulsion 2x HamiltonJet Hj403) based in Angola.
The main role is to develop, improve and standardise ship maintenance and operating methods and procedures to ensure the reliability, safety and economic performance of the fleet.
This will be achieved through:
-the development and standardisation of methods;
-the management and monitoring of preventive maintenance;
-performance analysis and continuous improvement;
-training and technical support;
-contribution to technical projects;
-audits and compliance.
The incumbent will also supervise the purchasing and procurement of spare parts for the maintenance of an offshore oil terminal (FSO) in Angola.
Profile:
First or second class Merchant Navy Officer’s certificate or degree in marine engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of marine equipment (engines, propulsion systems, hydraulic systems, air conditioning and refrigeration, dynamic positioning, navigation, etc.).
Proficiency in MaxSuite maintenance management software and data analysis tools.
Good understanding of international maritime regulations.
Bilingual in French and fluent in English.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role or in merchant marine maintenance. Experience in oil & gas and/or diving support would be an advantage.
Experience with Damen Fast Crew Supplier 2610 or DSV/ODSC jet-propelled vessels or equivalent is a plus.
The rotation schedule is 5 weeks of work followed by 5 weeks of rest.
Position based in Luanda (Angola) with frequent travel for on-board visits or work supervision.
Start date in April 2026.
