Versatile officer
Oceanic Assistance is seeking a sailor (chief officer or captain with a minimum of 500 nautical miles) for assignments aboard its vessel, the Merida: maritime assistance, towing, surveying, recovery of scientific objects, maritime surveillance. Alternating periods: operations at sea, on-call duty and maintenance at dock, standby on shore. The seafarer must live within 50 km of Lorient.
Embarkation from 7 February for a 3-week fixed-term contract, with the option of extension until July.
On board, comfort will be limited, the weather often bad, the rolling unpleasant and the work demanding.
The desired skills are: good seamanship, rigour, handy, willing to participate in all tasks of life on board, excellent physical condition, explosiveness, incisive, combative, able to loosen up during manoeuvres, comfortable with seamanship, competent in sailing, interested in optimising the ship to reduce pollution, sensitive to environmental issues, resistant to pressure and the unexpected, comfortable driving small boats.
