ENSM is proud to see its MAR-LANG project recognised in the Higher Education category
🏆 On European Day of Languages, the Erasmus+ France / Education Training Agency announced the French winners of the European Language Label 2025.
ENSM, the French Maritime Academy, is proud to see its MAR-LANG project recognised in the Higher Education category.
🔹 This project, carried out in partnership with several European institutions, has led to the development of a bilingual open-source platform containing:
➡️ more than 4,000 specialised terms
➡️ 44 teaching modules
➡️ 500 exercises and 900 questions
Aimed at both students and professionals, this resource facilitates the learning of professional maritime terminology in French and English. It also helps to strengthen the position of the French-speaking world in maritime professions. 🌊⚓
💬 ‘We learned from each other, gained skills, and formed wonderful friendships.’ Christelle Nicolas, teacher of maritime and general English at ENSM and head of the Mar-Lang Project.
💬 “Already praised internally, this project is now receiving external recognition thanks to the European Language Label. This award will help raise the ENSM’s profile among potential new partners. We also hope that it will encourage other staff at the institution to get involved in coordinating Erasmus+ projects. Christelle has paved the way by showing that it is possible, and I firmly believe in the snowball effect!” Gersende Le Dimna, Head of International Relations at ENSM.
ENSM would like to thank all its partners for their commitment and the Erasmus+ Agency for this distinction, which promotes innovation and European cooperation in language teaching.
📅 See you on 2 December 2025 in Paris, at the annual Erasmus+ conference, for the official Label award ceremony.
