ENSM has talent: discover the portrait of Baptiste, an officer and soon to be competing in the Mini Transat! 🌊
Baptiste Bathélémy, a former ENSM student, is embarking on the Mini Transat project, financially supported by the ENSM Foundation.
The project? A 6.50-metre monohull race from Les Sables d’Olonne to Saint-François in Guadeloupe.
“I’ve been thinking about this project for several years now. I have great admiration for these sailors who cross the Atlantic alone on 6.50-metre boats. I’ve always wanted to experience an adventure that combines my passion for the sea with a sporting challenge.
Before setting out, I absolutely wanted to study. That’s when I discovered ENSM, the merchant navy school. Those years of training gave me a solid foundation for preparing for a Mini Transat, but above all, they allowed me to discover an environment where I feel at home.
Today, I work at Brittany Ferries. I am passionate about this job and, at the same time, it allows me to devote all my free time to preparing for this project that is so important to me: taking part in the Mini Transat and fulfilling a dream I have had for a long time.”
