COMPANY PRESENTATION
Compagnie Maritime des Iles is based in Nouméa, New Caledonia. It operates a 64-metre LTC vessel, the M/V ISAN, equipped for international coastal shipping, which sails weekly between the mainland and the Loyalty Islands. It transports bulk cargo, containers, vehicles and/or Cl2 and Cl3 hydrocarbons.
The company is expanding with a second LTC vessel on delivery and the opening of a route to Vanuatu.
The company is recruiting a CAPTAIN (M/F).
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Captain is responsible for maritime shipping and represents the shipowner and its interests. He/she is familiar with and enforces international and national regulations and is responsible for ensuring that the company’s ISM policy is applied.
He/she works closely with management, the shipowner and the technical department to carry out his/her duties.
Sailing schedule: Weekly coastal shipping requiring relocation to New Caledonia, embarkation according to the shipowner’s schedule (4/3 depending on the company’s activity and development).
The working language is French.
Permanent contract – ENIM 15 – Travel and accommodation expenses covered at the start of the assignment.
PROFILE SOUGHT
Captain 3000 or above with up-to-date certification: CFSS, CFBS, CAEERS, CQALI and medical fitness.
Individuals with significant experience (2 years) as a CAPTAIN.
Rigour, autonomy and motivation are the qualities expected for this position.
