
Deputy Marine Expert
WHAT ROLE WILL YOU PLAY IN OUR TEAM?
You will represent ExxonMobil at the Port-Jérôme/Gravenchon Oil Terminal at the ship/berth interface.
You will be responsible for accepting ships and barges at the terminal.
You will be the point of contact with the port authorities, towage, pilotage and mooring services.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for:
Submitting incident reports.
Requesting acceptance of ships for external operators after comparing the characteristics of the proposed ships with the characteristics of our berths.
You will have the authority to refuse a vessel (LPA) or barge at the terminal or berth.
Enforcing HAROPA Port regulations and international guidelines (MARPOL, SOLAS, OCIMF, ADN).
Enforcing the rules of the Grand Port Maritime de Rouen.
Ensure the safety of operations and direct discussions with the ships (second captain, captain).
Determine the maximum draughts for departing ships.
You will be a port facility security officer.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
An officer who has graduated from a French-speaking national maritime academy and has experience in shipping petrochemical products.
Knowledge of international regulations and recommendations is necessary to succeed in this strategic role in relation to all port stakeholders.
Education:
Graduate of a national maritime academy.
Training in safety and pollution control would be an advantage.
Experience:
On tankers in the role of captain or first officer.
On terminal/ship interfaces for transfer arms and fenders.
Ship captain and barge experience would be a plus.
Mooring, pollution control, surestaries, API, ship and barge types, connection, berthing front (DAC, fender).
Other:
Fluency in French and English is essential (technical and maritime).
Respect for professional secrecy and professional ethics.
Cat B driving licence required.
