[Summer School] – Day 1 Recap – Tuesday, September 22
Following warm opening remarks by Cyril Delher, Director of the ENSM Marseille campus, and Gersende Le Dimna, Head of International Relations and Academic Partnerships, the day began with Ladislas Pszkiewicz, a former member of the Public Affairs office in Washington, D.C., and Country Chair for the United States at TotalEnergies, who presented the U.S. perspective on American energy geopolitics.
Luc Gillet, an engineer, expert, and speaker on maritime transport and the energy transition, and former Director of Maritime Transport at TotalEnergies, then provided insight into the current state of technology and regulations regarding the decarbonization of the maritime sector.
François Lambert, Director General of ENSM, opened the afternoon with a welcome address, emphasizing his pleasure at being able to host this second edition at the ENSM campus in Marseille. Christophe Lenormand, Interregional Director for the Mediterranean Sea, then outlined maritime public policies to an increasingly engaged audience.
The day concluded with a hands-on exercise—a serious game facilitated by Franck Obadia of Chaos Fertile—which allowed participants to envision what the decarbonization of the maritime sector will look like by 2050.
