ENSM Has Talent: A Look Back at the 2026 Kitefoil World Championships with Paul🌍

The ENSM Foundation is pleased to support the Olympic project of Paul, an alumnus who is now an international bridge watch officer / Captain 3000 at Brittany Ferries.

“A championship where I completely missed the mark on what I’d come for.

These World Championships took place in Viana do Castelo, Portugal—a spot I’d had time to get to know and where I felt comfortable on my foil. Conditions varied greatly throughout the competition. Despite some excellent heats that showcased my potential and the hard work I’d put in, a lack of consistency and equipment failure cost me dearly in the standings.

So I finished 39th at these World Championships.
It’s a result that’s hard to accept, but one that has given me food for thought.

This championship allowed me to ask myself the right questions: about my preparation, my training, but also about the next steps in my Olympic journey. Sometimes, the most challenging competitions are also the ones that help you grow the most. I’m coming away from this event with a clear head.
Just three days after the World Championships ended, I set sail for my first assignment as a lieutenant with Brittany Ferries.

I’m proud to have successfully built this dual career path, balancing elite sports with such a demanding profession. Finding the balance between these two lives is an integral part of my journey and my ambitions.

Thank you to my family for supporting me every day, to my sponsors—without whom none of this would be possible—and to my coaches for their support.
