[Paul Vatine Class Initiation Ceremony] – Testimonial from the Bural at Le Havre

Sullivan Le Cam, Grand Mât and student International Bridge Watch Officer (OCQPI) – Captain 3000, shares details about the preparations for the initiation ceremony of the Paul Vatine class of OCQPI 2026.

“The initiation ceremony is a very important event in the life of a Pilot, a new student at the ENSM.” It signifies their transition to the status of a seafarer, a tradition dear to the students of this school.

Organizing this event is a true privilege for us: we play a symbolic role in their future lives as seafarers, which is particularly close to our hearts.

This class arrived the year of the Transat Café l’Or; this legendary race leaves a lasting impression on ENSM students who participate in it, whether directly or indirectly. The name Paul Vatine immediately came to mind.

Cédric Château, winner of the Transat Café l’Or in the Class40 category, along with Catherine Cornu, a Seine pilot and the first woman to hold that position in France, agreed to serve as mentors for this graduating class with pleasure and pride.
We would like to thank them, as well as the school’s administration, the alumni, and of course the Pilots!

Beautiful weather, beautiful sea, beautiful baptism! 🎉
