Sea and Coast Festival – Saint-Malo

To celebrate the 8th annual Sea and Coast Festival, the ENSM’s Center for Survival and Sea Rescue Training is opening its doors for a guided tour!

The ENSM’s Center for Sea Survival and Rescue Training (CESAME) is an educational facility for training in ship abandonment, sea survival, rescue, and firefighting in accordance with the STCW Convention.

Located in the docks of the Port of Saint-Malo, it is equipped with a platform for launching several lifeboats, including a free-fall lifeboat and a fire simulator. It provides training for ENSM cadets and professional seafarers. CESAME is accredited to provide specific safety-related training in accordance with the IMO’s International STCW Convention (CAEERS, CAECSR, TIS, FBLI, and CQALI courses).

Firefighting training familiarizes participants with the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, develops skills for navigating smoke-filled environments, and teaches fire suppression techniques aboard ships at both the operational and command levels.

Rescue and survival at sea training courses enable participants to acquire the skills related to managing a ship abandonment and the use of individual and collective rescue equipment.

CESAME also has facilities for conducting training related to safety when working at heights and risk management in confined spaces.

As part of its continuing education program, CESAME welcomes seafarers from the merchant marine, fishing, and recreational boating sectors.

Guided tours (lasting approximately 1.5 hours) are free of charge.
Watch the launch of CESAME’s Free-Fall free-fall boat, scheduled for 11 a.m.
