⚓ Watch Officer
As a Watch Officer, you will be responsible for the navigation of the vessel under the Captain’s direction. You will ensure that the Captain’s instructions are followed at all times. Your duties will include:
• ensuring safe navigation, working closely with the engineers and deck crew, particularly in adverse conditions, and managing manoeuvres effectively
• maintaining a watch, ensuring compliance with navigation and safety rules, and issuing manoeuvre orders
• participating in the tactical execution of missions and in vessel inspections alongside boarding teams
• contribute to ship maintenance, the keeping of nautical documentation, and the correction of charts.
The DNGCD (National Customs Coastguard Directorate) manages the customs service’s naval and air assets. These assets are deployed in mainland France and overseas territories on missions to monitor and combat trafficking.
