Within the Plan Approval Office of the France zone, you join the «Systems» team which is in charge of the Machine, Electricity and Fire Safety plan reviews.
Within a team of 25 people, and in liaison with the local teams of our global network, your role is to conduct reviews of plans of all types of ships under construction in France or abroad, in accordance with the applicable regulations (Class or statutory regulations).
These design reviews include, but are not limited to:
– Propulsion systems and associated circuits
– Piping, dewatering systems
– Equipment installed on board (pressure equipment, steering gear)
– Ship electrical architecture (energy sources, switchboards)
– Ship automation, alarms and safety
You are also required to carry out technical studies in your field and to assist the Bureau Veritas network for ships in service throughout their life (modifications, transformations, etc.).
You are responsible for managing all components related to the successful completion of your exams:
– Technical and contractual monitoring
– Ensure quality of review and timeliness
As the shipbuilding industry is at a technological crossroads, many more environmentally friendly projects are emerging: veloc propulsion, hydrogen, electric… Bureau Veritas must accompany this transition – you will have the opportunity to take part in these changes.

Former officer of Merchant Navy or National Navy, or engineer (e) of training, you have knowledge in propulsion systems, electrical engineering, energy engineering and/ or mechanical engineering.
A first professional experience allowed you to develop solid technical knowledge in one or more of these fields.
You ideally have a knowledge of the Maritime or Offshore industry and your English allows you to easily express yourself orally and in writing.
You master the computer tools and you demonstrate a good writing and relational ease. Listening to the needs of your internal and external clients, you enjoy working as a team and adapting to the situations encountered.
You are interested in technical topics and the shipbuilding industry. You are rigorous and pragmatic, and you enjoy teamwork.
