New registration and selection procedures for the French Maritime Academy candidates.

In 2021, the selection method for the French Maritime Academy’s postgraduate courses will change.

Registrations will be made on Parcoursup.fr, where candidates will have to complete their application and download the supporting documents.

Details of how to register will be online by 21/12/2021 at the latest, the date on which the courses can be consulted on parcoursup.fr.

 

 

OCQM

Engine room watchkeeping officer / Chief engineer 8000kW

48 places, in Saint-Malo

Selection open to holders of a general, technological STI2D or professional baccalaureate, candidates undergoing professional career change and foreign students.

Selection criteria :

– Study of final year grades in mathematics and English as well as baccalaureate grades, mainly in French (entered by the high schools in Parcoursup).

– Evaluation of the professional project and motivation through a written composition by the candidate (modalities to come)

ENGINEER (SEAGOING AND/OR MARITIME ENGINEERING) 

Merchant Navy 1st Class Officer

150 places, cycle L in Marseille, cycle M sailing course in Le Havre, maritime engineering course in Nantes.

Selection open to holders of the STI2D general and technological baccalaureate and to foreign students.

Selection criteria :

    – Examination of first and final marks in scientific subjects: mathematics, physics-chemistry and even engineering sciences (entered directly by the establishments in Parcoursup).

    – Examination of grades for the core subjects of première and terminale classes: history-geography, French, philosophy and English (entered directly by the establishments in Parcoursup)

    – Study of the postbac course file that may be followed

    – Evaluation of a thematic paper (related to the maritime world) written by the candidate (modalities to come)

In the second phase of recruitment, an interview of around forty minutes, in May, by videoconference, will be considered for some candidates. The jury will be made up of members of the French Maritime Academy and professionals from the maritime world.

Practice

– For each course, the registration fee for the selection is 60€.

-Physical fitness requirements for the profession of seafarer: seafarers must meet internationally defined physical fitness requirements. A medical examination by a seafarer’s doctor will be required for successful candidates.

Open days

On 9 January in Marseille, 16 January in Nantes, 30 January in Saint-Malo (machine training only) and in Le Havre.

32 places, in Le Havre

MARITIME ENGINEER

Ship Eco-Management course
Deployment and Maintenance of Offshore Systems course

The training is open :

 – For integration in L3 specific maritime engineering, to students from :
      > Preparatory classes for the Physics and Technology (PT) grandes écoles on PT bank competition,
      > Scientific DUTs, on file

– For integration into M1, for students from :
      > From cycle L of the French Maritime Academy (Marseille)
      > A university scientific course at Bachelor’s level, on the basis of an application after upgrading to the maritimisation level, if necessary

  – To merchant navy officers holding a diploma at management level, with a diploma as chief engineer 8000 kW, chief engineer, captain or DESMM, upon application.

The training takes place in 2 years in Nantes for students entering at M1 level and in 3 years for those entering at L3 level.

Registration on www.supmaritime.fr from January to May (and not on Parcoursup).
