Second external engineer
Under the responsibility of the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and technical monitoring of equipment outside the engine room, while ensuring the safe operation of the ship and the application of the ISM approach.
Your main tasks:
Ensure the proper functioning of technical installations outside the engine room.
Organise, coordinate and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance.
Supervise, manage and train the external service team.
Ensure the safety of the service’s property and personnel.
Check the functioning of external components and diagnose faults.
Recording incidents, anomalies and technical interventions in reports.
Supervising and ensuring the maintenance and repair of the following equipment:
Kitchen, bar and fountain equipment.
Laundry equipment.
Air conditioning and refrigeration (AHU, FCU, cold rooms, refrigerated containers).
Hotel equipment (passenger cabins, common areas).
Lifts and elevators
Boats (passenger catamarans, cargo barges, lifeboats)
Davits, manoeuvring and auxiliary equipment
Cranes and hold panels (hydraulic circuits)
Non-engine circuits (cold water, hot water, sanitary facilities, air conditioning drainage)
Watertight doors and bulkhead doors and their auxiliary equipment
Manage stocks, carry out inventories of spare parts and consumables for the external service
Manage working hours and rest periods for external staff.
Prepare requests for intervention for stopovers and dry docks.
Supervise work carried out by external companies and the technical department on shore.
Apply and enforce codes, rules and regulations (IMO, French flag, classification society).
Lead the ISM process, monitor non-compliance, incidents and risk situations.
