Our client is seeking a Technical Manager (M/F) for a role based near Nantes (44).

As part of a team of seven people (workshop manager, marine engineer, etc.), working directly with the vessels, senior management and the group’s support departments, your main responsibility will be to maintain the vessels in operational condition whilst adhering to the budget and relevant regulations. As part of this role, you will:

• Plan and carry out routine maintenance and technical stopovers in conjunction with the ships.
• Ensure the technical monitoring of the ships, in particular via the CMMS.
• Organise, in conjunction with the QHSE department, regulatory inspections to ensure the ships’ certificates are maintained (classification societies, flag state, etc.).
• Define budgets in consultation with senior management and ensure they are adhered to and monitored.
• Lead the Group’s procurement policy: coordinating orders, supplying vessels, sourcing subcontractors and suppliers, etc.
• Manage your department from both a hierarchical and functional perspective.
• Act as a source of initiative on all Group matters and projects

You are a man or woman with a higher education qualification in the Merchant Navy (or equivalent) and have experience in a seafaring role (with a focus on machinery) and/or as a superintendent or technical manager within a shipping company or shipyard.

Employment status: Executive on a daily rate
