Officer with of a Officer in charge of a Bridge watchkeeping certificate, but not complying with the required sea service time (or equivalent) to maintain the certificate valid.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

Persons holding a Bridge Watchkeeping certificate for vessels over 500 GT.

OBJECTIVES

To demonstrate the valid professional competence and thus obtain the revalidation of the certificate.

DURATION

32 hours over 4.5 days (course + test)

PROGRAM

Compliant to appendix 3 of the decree’s annex dated 24 July 2013 :
Programme for revalidation tests and courses for deck watchkeeper certificate for a gross tonnage equal or over 500 (and for deck watchkeepers for a gross tonnage below 500 who don’t carry out coastal navigation-STCW 11/3)

Refresher course and updating knowledge in relation to competences :
– Navigation / Meteorology : 4 hours
– SMCP: 4 hours, test included (1/2 hour)
– Navigation and manoeuvring simulator / COLREGS : 12 hours
– Merchant ship operations/loading calculations : 4 hours, test included
– Safety : 4 hours, test included (1/2 hour)

Test : navigation and manoeuvring simulator / navigation / meteorology / COLREGS : 4 hours
