RECYCLAGE – CERTIFICAT D’APTITUDE À L’EXPLOITATION DES CANOTS DE SECOURS RAPIDES (CAECSR)

Trainees

Holder of a certificate of proficiency in the operation of fast rescue boats (CAECSR) having reached the five year expiry date.

Background

Conditions of eligibility for the training course :
– Be the holder of a certificate of proficiency in the operation of fast rescue boats (CAECSR)
– Be the holder of an accreditation of training on board less than five years old and accredited by the ship owner (entitles the holder to a reduction in the number of hours of training)
– Be the holder of a medical certificate from the seafarers’ doctor mentioning the ability to navigate not older than 12 months.

Objective

To show the upholding of the competence in accordance with the decree dated 24 July 2013 related to the reaccreditation of professional maritime training certificates.

Duration

8 hours over a day of which 2 hours of theory and 6 hours of practice

Programme

Theory training :
– General points on fast rescue boats
– Launching and retrieving
– Manoeuvring of a fast rescue boat
– Launching and manoeuvring in unfavourable conditions
– Rescue methods requiring a helicopter
– Hypothermia
– Portable radioelectric equipment

Practical training :
– Operational availibility of a rescue boat
– Practice at launching and retrieving a rescue boat
– Dealing with capsizing
–  Manœuvres at slow and fast speeds
