Open Doors Day online-Marseille

Saturday 9th January 2021

Fabrice Moret-Bailly, Director of the FMA site in Marseille, welcomes you to the Pointe Rouge district, on the route des Calanques, where the School occupies 15,000 m² of premises just a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean.

Around it
– a deputy former merchant navy officer,
– a teaching team largely made up of former sailors, experts and experienced teachers
– a study and training office as close as possible to the pupils
– a librarian ….

The FMA is located in a pine forest next to the hill:
– numerous simulators dedicated to manoeuvres, navigation and radar
– an educational steam power plant equipped with two turbo-alternators and a generator, unique in France
machine simulators modeling the energy and propulsion systems of different types of vessels
– a GMDSS simulator
– a dynamic positioning simulator
– a loading simulator
– a VTS simulator
– several practical work rooms and laboratories
– an educational gateway
– a mechanical engineering laboratory
– a hydraulic laboratory
– a climate engineering laboratory
– an electronics laboratory
– 3 electrical engineering laboratories
– 3 automation laboratories
– multimedia rooms

The 450 students of the first three years of the FMA engineering curriculum are trained at the Marseille site. At the end of this cycle, they will choose between navigation, in Le Havre, to become a 1st class officer in the merchant navy and engineer, or maritime engineering in Nantes, and will be either engineers in eco-ship management (EGN) or engineers in deployment in offshore systems maintenance (DMO).
