La Compagnie Maritime des Iles is based in Nouméa, New Caledonia. It currently operates two 64-metre and 68-metre LTC vessels, the M/V ISAN and the KARAKA, registered for international coastal trade, which sail on a weekly basis between the Mainland and the Loyalty Islands. They carry bulk cargo, containers, vehicles and/or Cl2 and Cl3 hydrocarbons.
The company is expanding with the launch of a new route to Vanuatu.
The company is recruiting 1 Deck Officer and 1 Engine Officer (M/F).
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Deck Officer is responsible for navigation and monitoring the ship’s deck schedule under the direct authority of the First Mate and the Captain. He works closely with the engine department to carry out his duties.
The Engineer Officer is responsible for engine operation and the maintenance of the ship’s equipment under the direct authority of the Chief Engineer and the Captain. He works closely with the Deck department to carry out his duties.
Sailing schedule: Weekly coastal trade requiring residence in the North Channel; embarkation according to the shipping company’s schedule (4/3 rotation)
The working language is French.
Permanent contract – ENIM 10 – Travel and accommodation expenses covered at the start of the assignment
DESIRED PROFILE
OCQP / OCQM with up-to-date certification: CFSS, CFBS, CAEERS, CQALI and medical fitness
Candidates with significant experience as an Officer
Diligence, independence and motivation are the qualities required for this role.
