The Northern Sea Route, Reality and Prospects

Hervé Baudu, Professor of Nautical Sciences at the French Maritime Academy in Marseille, has written at the request of Frédéric Lasserre, a leading Canadian specialist in Arctic issues and Director of the Quebec Council of Geopolitical Studies (CQEG) at the University of Laval in Quebec the article “The Northern Sea Route, Reality and Prospects”.
This peer-reviewed article analyzes maritime issues in the Arctic space, confirms the exponential growth of hydrocarbon traffic to destination and relativizes trans-Arctic transit traffic, particularly to containers: https://cqegheiulaval.com/la-route-maritime-du-nord-realite-et-perspectives/#_ft

This publication follows a previous article on “the world fleet of icebreakers” published earlier this year in the same magazine: https://cqegheiulaval.com/la-flotte-mondiale-de-navires-brise-glaces/
