In order to celebrate Le Havre’s 500th anniversary founded by François 1er, the city will welcome around 30 Tall Ships from all over the world engaged in the Tall Ship Race which will be named Le Havre’s Tall Ship on the occasion. It is the only gathering of old Tall Ships in France in 2017.

The largest summer family event will take place right next to ENSM’s campus, in the Paul Vatine and Eure basins during August’s last weekend. The access to the docks and old Tall Ships will be free.

STI, an event organiser based in London, will rely on all the port and maritime professionals, the Normandy sailing league and the participation of sailing boats lovers volunteering to make this event a success

Gilles Duchemin, the campus’ Head, welcomed the presentation to the media in the officer’s mess.
Just to remind the public that even if the Tall Ship event is a wonderful way to discover navigation, sailing is also a profession.
