A group of 3rd and 5th year students left Le Havre on Friday 1st May and arrived at destination on Saturday 2nd May. The planning included conferences, visits of museums, factories, research consultancy offices and shipyards.

KONSBERG Maritime : discovery of the K-Bridge and K-Nav systems, of the technology for the DP and bridge simulators, of the assembly and test beds for bridge systems (“black team”), as well as the quality department for manufactured products.
ROLLS-ROYCE: visit of Rolls-Royce’s training centre, presentation of the Rolls-Royce technologies.
ULSTEIN: conference, presentation of the technologies and certificates Ulstein X-Bow and X-stern as well as the projects for the integrated bridge. Visit of the shipyard, assembly of two half hulls and presentation of the technical solutions for the hull developed by Ulstein’s engineers.
KLEVEN: visit of Kleven’s shipyards and three seismic and Offshore vessels at different building stages.

For the students,” the trip was extremely interesting as it allowed us to gain more knowledge especially in simulation, DP, Offshore, LNG propulsion, Bridge Programmes, automation and to have an overview of the technologies which aren’t, yet, well-known on the French market”.
