While the reorganisation plan of the French Maritime Academy (ENSM) is well underway, Evelyne Iliou, Deputy Director General, will be in charge of the interim until the arrival of the new Director General.
By decree of 22 August 2019 appointing an interim Director General of the French Maritime Academy, Evelyne Iliou will head the ENSM from 1 September 2019 until the arrival of a new head of “Hydro”.
The offer was published in the Official Journal on 11 May 2019 and 15 candidates applied.
The selection committee pre-selected 4 candidates from the files, who were then interviewed. The committee drew up a list of candidates, which was proposed to the Minister for the Sea.
If the candidacy of number 1 on the list receives the favourable opinion of the Board of Directors,
the Minister will propose his appointment as Director General of the School.
The Minister’s proposal will be submitted to the ENSM Board of Directors at its meeting on 10 September 2019 in Paris.
Evelyne Iliou, a former student of the French Maritime Academy, will therefore take over the interim position for the time required.
“The research department and the general services department will be fully staffed on 1 September in Le Havre. There are 21 agents who will have joined our head office since the beginning of the year, including the deputy director of studies, the quality manager and the heritage manager,” says Evelyne Iliou, who points out that the school that trains merchant marine officers and maritime engineers is preparing to welcome 1100 students: 380 in Le Havre,
200 in Saint-Malo, 160 in Nantes and 380 in Marseille.
