30% of the crew members, skipper included or at least two crew members, skipper included must attend training such as described in the ISAF Offshore Special Regulations.

Objectives

Familiarisation to survival at sea courses whether through theory sessions or survival practicals.

Programme

Theory training:

  1. Preparation of boat, crew instructions
  2. Critical situations and how to handle them
  3. Hypothermia and first aid
  4. Search and rescue
  5. Meteorology
  6. Life rafts and life jackets recommendations
  7. Communication means at sea
  8. Fire prevention and fire-fighting

Practical training:

  1. Release of an inflatable raft and use of the equipment onboard
  2. Uprighting of a capsized raft
  3. Boarding a raft at sea
  4. Practice in survival suit (individual and in group)
  5. Release of pyrotechnic means
