Marseille campus
Marseille campus is located at the Pointe Rouge and and covers an area of 15,000 m2. It is managed by Fabrice Moret-Bailly. Cyril Delher is the Deputy Head.
Under the authority of the campus’ Head and with the assistance of the Studies and Training department (BEF), the latter is the privileged link between the students and the school. It is the interface as far as the administration, the pedagogy and discipline are concerned. It welcomes students, supports and monitors trainees on ongoing training and delivers the certificates.
Their offices are open from Monday to Friday, from 7.30 am-12.00pm and 1.30 pm-5.30 pm.
Pedagogical equipment
The Marseille campus is equipped with simulators dedicated to the bridge: manoeuvring, navigation and radar.
The manoeuvring simulator also known as « full mission » is composed of a heightened bridge with a field of vision of 360°, equipped with central and lateral command stations. Three other rooms, similar to the navigation simulator, complete the facilities.
The navigation simulator is located in a large room with a field of vision of 150° and a lifelike command station. Three other rooms fitted with computers and a video projector of 30° complete the facilities. This simulator is dedicated to navigation training in all kinds of visibility conditions.
The radar ARPA-ECDIS simulator works with a computer and a 40-inch screen. It is mainly used for anti-collision training ARPA-ECDIS, especially in restricted visibility conditions.
The engine simulators model the energetic and propulsive installations for different types of vessels : they allow the students to learn about the different function rules of the various components (propulsion engines, steam production, electricity production, HFO, refrigeration plant, oil separator…) and to grasp the interactions. The latest design recently acquired allows the simulation of LNG-propelled vessels (Liquefied Natural Gas) which will enable the move towards energy transition. It’s also a tool allowing the practice of managing and identifying faulty equipment and to the optimised management of the different resources of the engine room.
The GMDSS simulator : the training of the distress and ship security systems is delivered by the GMDSS simulator. It is possible to simulate all the distress situations by implementing the links between radio and satellites necessary to the ship rescue. The general certificate of radio operator is delivered at the end of the course.
Dynamic positioning simulator : dynamic positioning is an autonomous system to automatically control the ship’s position and heading. It is mandatory on the vessels operating Offshore. The campus is accredited by the Nautical Institute for DP Junior and DP Senoir qualifications.
Loading simulator : the simulator dedicated to the handling of liquids in bulk allows the simulation of the different operational stages for three types of tankers: crude oil carrier, chemical carrier and semi-pressurized/semi-cooled LPG.
The VTS simulator can train between four and eight people, and is dedicated to the training of port or coastal operators or supervisors.

The campus owns a boat “The Valmer”.
It is equipped with a steam production plant driven by diesel engines for assembling and dismantling and workshops for welding, dismantling of diesel engines, engine trials, rope work…
MARITIME SOCIAL SERVICE
Students can apply for a grant. The Maritime Social Services (SSM), unique social services and specialised in the French maritime world support mariners from their initial training to their retirement. An SSM social worker is present at the start of the school year and is regularly on duty within the premises all along the year :

Accommodation and Catering
Food is available from a food truck parked within the school premises.
Students can request accommodation in the halls of residence next to the campus : visit Residence website “Paul Emile Victor”.
A few rooms are available for the trainees. Reservations can be made with the training courses department (BEF).
