Program
Theoretical training :
– Presentation of different types of electronic charts
– Main types of ECDIS and display characteristics
– Risks and limitations of ECDIS in integrated Bridge
– Factors affecting the performance and accuracy of the system
Practical training :
Basic knowledge of the duties carried out by the watchkeeping Officer (demonstrated by the instructor) :
– Adjustments and maintenance of displays
– Display data
– Route planning
– Route monitoring
– Monitoring alarms
Simulation :
– Taking over the ECDIS when arriving on the bridge
– Passage plan analysis
– Verification of updates
Discussions :
– Using PPU
– Use of ECDIS during manoeuvring
