Program

Theoretical training :

Presentation of different types of electronic charts
Main types of ECDIS and display characteristics
– Risks and limitations of ECDIS in integrated Bridge
Factors affecting the performance and accuracy of the system

Practical training :
Basic knowledge of the duties carried out by the watchkeeping Officer (demonstrated by the instructor) :
Adjustments and maintenance of displays
Display data
Route planning
Route monitoring
– Monitoring alarms
Simulation :
– Taking over the ECDIS when arriving on the bridge
– Passage plan analysis
– Verification of updates
